You took my candle to your bedroom.
You prayed the flames would keep you warm.
Hoped the glow would never turn into a dark and tired burn.
You shuttered every single window.
Locked the door and closed the blinds.
Watching as my candle fought against the coming of the light.
You held the fire to your heart, and never looked away.
You kept my flame from going out until the coming of the day.
And with the light and with your smile.
You leant sweetly towards the flame.
You whispered how you loved me so and then you blew my life away.
